Spatial Connections between Microplastics and Heavy Metal Pollution within Floodplain Soils

چکیده

Soils contain an increasing number of different pollutants, which are often released into the environment by human activity. Among “new” potential pollutants plastics and microplastics. “Recognized” such as heavy metals, geogenic anthropogenic origin, now meet purely contaminants plastic particles. Those can especially in floodplain landscapes soils, because their function a temporary sink for sediments, nutrients, pollutants. Based on geospatial sampling approach, we analyzed soil properties metal contents (ICP-MS) material macroplastic particles, calculated total concentrations (Ptot) from preliminary studies. data were used to investigate spatial connections between both groups Our results example Lahn river catchment show low-to-moderate contamination soils with metals wide distribution up depth two meters. Furthermore, able document Spatial statistical correlations found. mainly expressed comparable variability across common accumulation topsoil upper or sediment layers (0–50 cm). The indicate deposition conditions system.

Spatial distribution and degree of heavy metal pollution in urban roadside dusts from Sanandaj, Iran

Industrial activities and high traffic density are the most important heavy metal pollution sources in urban areas. Roadside dust created by atmospheric deposition can be one of the best indicators for heavy metal contamination levels. The present study reports the spatial distribution patterns and degree of heavy metal pollution (Cd, Cr, Ni, Pb, Zn, and As) in 50 roadside dust samples from urb...
